DHCP Server assigns the IP address to your MAC. Such IP address includes 4 sets of numbers with a period separation. The best example is 192.175.01.25.
In the above IP address, consider the first three number sets. All such sets are from the Router IP address. They are unchangeable numbers. Coming to the fourth number set, it is changeable or replaceable with any number from 1 to 255.

How to Change IP Address on MAC Manually?

Step 1:
On the top menu bar, you will many options including the Apple logo, Chrome, File, etc. Here you need to click on the ‘Apple Logo’. You will get a drop-down menu with some options from which you need to select ‘System Preferences’.
Step 2:
In the next ‘System Preferences’ screen, you will see some tabs. Click on the Network tab that you find on that screen.
Step 3:
You will get a new ‘Network’ screen. The first thing is to choose your Network, which is Wi-Fi or Ethernet in the side menu.Â

Now, you need to click on the ‘Advanced’ option. There is an option ‘Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar’ which you need to check.

You will get a new screen with many tabs like

- WINS

Now, you need to copy the router IP Address to the IPv4 Address field. After copying, you can see the four digits set in which you need to change the fourth digit set. The fourth number set can be anything from 1 to 255. Enter the required number in the field.

After modifying the IP Address, click on the ‘OK’ option. This will save the modified IP Address.
One has to remember the fact that the first three number sets are the same as the router IP address. You can’t change these number sets and you can change the fourth number set only. Such a number can be any from 1 to 255.
