  1. The first step is to go to the Files App on iPhone. On an android phone go to the ‘My Files App’
  2. You will get the ‘My Files’ screen with many options. Click on the SD card option that you find under the ‘Local Storage’ Section.
  3. The next step is to move to the WhatsApp option. Here, you will get the ‘Databases’ folder, and tap on it.
  4. You can see the created file ‘msgstore.db.crypt12’. Now, you need to copy this latest backup file of WhatsApp. To save your older WhatsApp backups, you can copy this backup on your PC.
  5. Move to the outside folder of WhatsApp Databases. Here, you can paste the copied file ‘msgstore.db.crypt12’. Check you are pasting it to the root of Phone Storage or SD Card.
  6. The next step is to link your mobile phone with your PC for transferring the backup files.
  7. On your PC, move to the Phone option. Click on the Card/Device option. It will open the new screen where you need to copy the ‘msgstore.db.crypt12’ file to Desktop.

The copied file contains the backup contents of your WhatsApp that are recent chats or files. All such files are available in an encrypted format.
