As Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) continues to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of education, the district has implemented a new learning management system called Schoology. This platform allows students, teachers, and parents to access course materials, assignments, and grades all in one place. In this article, we will guide you through the basics of navigating the BCPS Schoology platform.
Logging In
To access Schoology, you will need to log in using your BCPS One account. This is the same account used to access other BCPS online resources such as Google Classroom and BCPS OneDrive. If you do not have a BCPS One account, you can contact your school’s technology coordinator for assistance.
Home Page
Once you have logged in, you will be taken to the Schoology homepage. This page will display any upcoming assignments, announcements, and messages from your teachers. You can also access your courses and grades from the navigation bar at the top of the page.
Courses
To access your courses, click on the “Courses” tab in the navigation bar. This will display a list of all the courses you are enrolled in. You can click on a course to view its materials, assignments, and discussions. You can also customize the order of your courses by clicking on the gear icon next to the “Courses” tab.
Grades
To view your grades, click on the “Grades” tab in the navigation bar. This will display a list of all your courses and their corresponding grades. You can click on a course to view a breakdown of your grades for that course. Please note that not all assignments may be graded in Schoology, so it is important to check with your teacher for a complete understanding of your grades.
Calendar
The “Calendar” tab in the navigation bar displays all upcoming assignments and events from your courses. You can click on an event to view more details or add it to your personal calendar.
Resources
The “Resources” tab in the navigation bar contains helpful resources and tutorials for using Schoology. This is a great place to start if you have any questions or need assistance with the platform.
Mobile App
Schoology also has a mobile app available for download on both iOS and Android devices. This app allows you to access your courses, grades, and other features on the go. Simply search for “Schoology” in your device’s app store and log in using your BCPS One account.
