IPTV is interactive digital television, it is transmitted via Internet channels using the original IPTV technology. Today, in terms of the quality of service provision, it is far ahead of functionally similar services: terrestrial digital TV, cable, and satellite TV
What are the main positive features of IPTV?
First of all, this is support for the functions of video recording of broadcasts, displaying TV programs, pause TV broadcasting with the ability to continue viewing after a certain time. Danish IPTV operates over IP broadband connections and is always provided to consumers with network access.
It may sound a little strange, but IPTV cannot in the full sense be called television broadcasting over the Internet. This is just a system for delivering content – digital television – to those consumers who subscribe to this service. And the term IP itself, that is, the Internet Protocol is a method of transferring content over a network under the control of a provider. This format is very similar to regular cable TV but on the Internet.
An additional advantage of IPTV is the lack of linkage to the list of channels, like a conventional TV, and even cable and satellite. It has no dependence on the tariffs of the TV operator, and on the region in which the consumer lives. You only need to download the playlist and player with certain TV content. IP-television is free when broadcasting on unencrypted channels, but even so, you can watch many dozens of channels, including narrowly thematic ones. If we compare IPTV with traditional analog TV, the advantage will be in multi-channel audio and HD video resolution.
There is also an economic benefit. You do not need to buy an expensive antenna, TV with the digital receiver, receivers, and tuners, you also do not need to lay cables and perform other installation work. All that is needed is an Internet connection and any device capable of supporting a network and the ability to run the appropriate software for playback. Interactive TV over IP can be watched on a tablet, smartphone, PC, TV with set-top boxes that support IP, or with Smart TV functions.
Let’s talk about the disadvantages of IPTV:
The most significant are serious problems with broadcasting if the data transfer rate is not high enough. For the normal operation of IP television, the speed must be at least 10 Mbps. Less global imperfections will only be noticeable in certain situations. For example, when the image will be displayed on the TV screen, and everything will be reproduced on a tablet or PC, any action will have to be performed using manipulators. That is, to simply turn up the volume, or change the channel, you will have to use the touchpad or mouse. However, this slight inconvenience is solved by using Smart TV. You can also use a media player or a specialized set-top box, but these options lose in terms of economy: the devices will be quite expensive.
IPTV playlists:
Playlists are offered to users as “m3u” files, or as a web address. Typically, the provider’s web resource contains such playlists with a large selection of television channels relevant to the region. If desired, such playlists with lists of television channels can simply be searched on the net. The main thing is that they are available to a fairly wide audience and are relevant.
IPTV player:
IPTV software can be any media player that supports its playback functions, they are available in all operating systems. There are also specialized players already adapted to the protocol. They have built-in and updatable playlists, but you can also use custom options. Windows players are optimal for use. In them, you can customize the image, work with the TV program and the scheduler, record content.
