Come Let’s Read The Best Lenovo Yoga 720-15 Review

Lenovo Yoga 720-15 guarantees a sharp, vivid display. The picture quality is crisp. Indeed, it promises a balanced audio. Not only that but also the productivity and gaming performance are strong and amazing. In fact, it offers a long battery life. It comes with a plain design. On the downside, it is a bit more bulky than other 2-in-1s.

It’s not an easy task to lay your hands on a laptop with the flexibility of a 2-in-1, strong discrete graphics and an economical price. But the 15-inch Lenovo Yoga 720 ($999.99 to start, $1,199.99 as tested) is a convertible that promises just that. It offers a fast Intel Core i7 processor and a potent Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU. In fact, it’s the first convertible with the most recent Nvidia 10-series graphics. Therefore, this feature enables the machine to be strong enough for designing and gaming in laptop mode and watching movies in tablet mode.

In addition to its strong performance, the Yoga 720 comes with all-day battery life, a splendid display, and powerful audio. Therefore, the Lenovo Yoga 720 is our favourite 15-inch 2-in-1. Indeed, it is one of the best convertibles out there that you can own.

Design

Lenovo went for a plain but professional design with the Yoga 720. It features minimalist aesthetics. The aluminium lid is a dark tone of gunmetal gray. In the top left-hand corner there is a Yoga logo. When you lift the lid, you will see a 15.6-inch FHD display with minimal bezels. The keyboard is styled as an island. You will also find an aluminium deck in the same colour shade as the lid.

The Yoga 720 has a medium-size footprint for a convertible. The Yoga’s 360-degree hinges let it be used as a laptop, a tablet, a tent or as a display (with the keyboard face down).

Its set of ports is minimal, but fairly ordinary for a 2-in-1. The power jack, a full-size USB 3.1 port and the headphone jack are on the left. A Thunderbolt 3 port and another USB port are on the right.

Display

The 15.6-inch, 1080p display on the Yoga 720 is extraordinary, with vivid colours and sharp details. The colour fidelity is excellent and so are the viewing angles. The Yoga’s screen covers an amazing 114 percent of the sRGB colour gamut, outperforming the mainstream notebook average (95 percent) and transcending the Spectre x360 (113 percent) and Notebook 9 Pro (107 percent).

Keyboard and Touchpad

The Lenovo Yoga 720’s keyboard could offer a bit more travel. The keys press down just 1.2 millimeters (we like 1.5 mm or more) . However, the 71 grams of actuation promise a clicky feel. The 4.1 × 2.7 touchpad is roomy and responsive.

Audio

The speakers on the Yoga 720 promise loud, balanced sound. The marimba, vocals and percussion co-exist in a harmonious relationship to each other. The Yoga ushers in preinstalled with Dolby Atmos software to shift between specific sound profiles for music, movies, and gaming.

Performance

The Lenovo Yoga 720-15 comes packed with a 2.8-GHz Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU with 2GB of video memory. It also features 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Thus, with all these gorgeous features the Yoga 720 is equally up for both work and play. You can open multiple tabs and yet you will not feel any noticeable lag.

Concluding lines

Indeed, the Lenovo Yoga 720-15 is one of the most powerful, versatile 2-in-1s. Its combination of a Core i7-7700HQ CPU and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU makes it just as effective for video editing and playing games (at low settings) as it is for watching films and web browsing.
