In March 2012, NVIDIA released the Nvidia Geforce gtx 670m, a powerful graphics card for laptop computers. It’s a GeForce GTX 570M with faster clocks based on the Fermi GF114 core.
Building Design Aspects GF114
The GF114 core is a power-optimized version of the GF104 core found in the GTX 470M, with no significant architectural changes. As a result, despite the fact that Nvidia was able to clock the shaders higher while still staying within the same power scale, the performance per MHz remained the same. When compared to the 384 cores of the GF114, the GTX 670M’s 336 cores appear to be the clear winner.Â
Performance
The GeForce GTX 670M is slightly faster than its predecessor, the GTX 570M, and its high-end card status means it offers performance comparable to the AMD Radeon HD 6970M. When compared to GTX 500M cards, the GTX 670M is closer to the GTX 560M (-15%) than the GTX 580M (+35%). Current-generation consoles should be able to run games at full HD resolution and ultra-high detail settings without issue by 2012. Few demanding games, such as Metro 2033 and Crysis 2, may necessitate lower graphical settings to ensure smooth gameplay.
Features
The GF114 chip, like the GF104 chip before it, supports Blu-ray Bitstream HD Audio output via HDMI. This means it can transmit Dolby True HD or DTS-HD bitstreams to a HiFi receiver without compromising quality.
For video decoding, the Nvidia GeForce gtx 670m uses PureVideo HD technology. MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 Part 2 (MPEG-4 ASP – such as DivX or Xvid), VC-1/WMV9, and H.264 are all fully decoded by the integrated Video Processor 4 (VP4), which also supports feature set C. VLD, IDCT, Motion Compensation, and Deblocking are some of the techniques used.
Furthermore, the GPU can handle the simultaneous decoding of two 1080p streams (e.g., Blu-Ray Picture-in-Picture).
The GeForce GTX 670M can be used in a wide range of computations due to its compatibility with CUDA, OpenCL, and DirectCompute 2.1. For example, the stream processor can encode videos much faster than many modern CPUs. The GPU can perform physics calculations if PhysX is supported (e.g., in Mafia 2 or Metro 2033).
If your laptop supports 3D Vision, you can play 3D games, view 3D Web Streaming, view 3D photographs, and watch 3D Blu-rays on the laptop’s built-in 3D screen or an external 3D TV.
The power requirements for the Nvidia GeForce gtx 670m are expected to be around 75 Watts, which is comparable to the GTX 470M. (TDP includes MXM board and memory.) The chip operates at 50/100 MHz (chip/shader) in 2D mode and 200/400 MHz in 3D mode to save power when not in use. The 500M series also supports Optimus, which allows for automatic switching between the Intel-integrated graphics card and the Nvidia GPU. The manufacturer determines whether or not a particular model of the laptop computer has this function.
Is it a good idea to buy an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 M?
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M is one of the best-selling Graphics Cards over a period of time. The best values are products that have both high performance (yellow) and low cost (green) (green). A higher quality indicator has less overlap between the yellow and green bars.

Conclusion
While gaming, the GTX 670 M delivered a performance that only the best modern graphics cards can match. Both the AMD Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 cost £370 and is approximately 15% faster than the GTX 670. The £288 AMD Radeon HD 7950 is roughly 25% slower.
